Larry has, once again, baffled his doctor and nurses. We were told on Saturday morning that in just a day or two and he would be gone. However, he had a very interactive day on Saturday, talking and making a few jokes. It was almost like the old Larry was back, even for a brief time. I'm sure it spent his energy as he spent most of Sunday sleeping and today is much the same. We've been told that it is common for cancer patients to sometimes rally at the end, which may very well be what he has done. His vital signs took a negative turn last evening, but improved a bit during the night and remain fairly stable. It is amazing to me that a body so ravaged with this horrible disease can still be so strong and put up such a fight to live.

The decision was made just a few minutes ago to move him to Hospice Home in High Point. This move is scheduled for tomorrow morning and I believe Larry will be much more comfortable. The rooms are much the same as what we have now, except that he will be on the ground floor with access to a courtyard outside his room. He asked us yesterday if he could just look out a window so we moved his bed for him to see outside. It was a very nice day so we were able to open the window, too, and he commented on the birds singing. I believe he will find this move especially comforting since he will be able to not only see outside, but they are willing to move his bed outside for a short while.

Will update more following his move tomorrow.

Much love,

Terri and family

Hi Larry,
I haven't seen you in quite a few years. I always remember that silver AMC you had when we first met back in Eden at WLOE in, what...was it 1973 or 1974? That seems like such a long time ago now. After reading some of the posts on the blog here I see you have a great wife and family. I'm thinking about you a lot right now Larry. Hang in there.

Terri,
We are so glad that Larry is going to get to go to Hospice today. I prayed for you this morning as you assist in this move.
We want to express how much Larry has meant to us during the past 30 plus years. When we first moved to Abbotts Creek, Larry was there to help us move. We didn't even as for him to help. Whenever our Sunday School class had a "rock 'n roll" social, Larry was there to be our DJ. At Christmas, I recall with fondness the many hours that Larry spent at the church getting the lights and sound ready for the big productions. It would amaze all of us if we knew the number of hours he gave each season in order for the production to be of such high quality. Only heaven will be able to tell how many lives were touched because of his expertise. Truly, Larry had a servant's heart. Thank you for letting him share his talents. Anytime I picture Larry, I picture his warm smile and easy laughter. Again, be assured that you and the boys are surrounded with a host of friends and loved ones who are praying for you during these difficult days.

Hope the move went OK. One of the guys in our care group is dating a lady who works at Hospice. Her name is Deb. Maybe you'll meet her. I was just wondering about visitors. Can Larry have visitors? Do YOU want people to come? We'll wait to hear from you on that. Just know that you come to our mind often and we do pray constantly for all of you. Thanks for taking the time to keep us informed. I'm sure you have a kazillon other things to do, but thanks for helping us know better how to pray for you and the boys especially. I hope you know that if you need ANYTHING all you need to do is call (isn't that in a song?) We love you and pray that God will continue to sustain you through this trial. Francel and Sandy
